[b]泥炭土：[/b]以泥炭苔為主的介質，市面上有很多品牌，買時注意其ph值是否有調整過，宜又好用的介質，豐含有機質跟養分，種花必備之介質，與珍珠石混合較佳，其缺點：容易變酸、全乾後會變硬並且不容易吸水。
[b]陽明山土：[/b]與一般土壤性質不同，鬆散且肥沃，並經高溫殺處理過，故質地較硬，一般草木皆可用。唯來源不同，品質就有差別，一般說用日本赤玉土會比較好(便宜)。
[b]碳化稻殼：[/b]又稱燻炭，碳化程度愈高愈好，呈鹼性，可增加排水性及透氣性，適量對於一般植物是不錯的，除了喜歡酸性土壤的植物例外。
[color=blue][b]无机介质[/color][/b]
[b]蛭石：[/b]為雲母經過高溫處理過之介質，可以增加內聚蓄水性及透氣性，常見的介質，便宜又好用，缺點：時間久了會溶化，變像土一樣。
[b]蘭石：[/b]為黏土經過高溫處理，表面上有很多孔隙，排水性好、透氣性佳，質地又輕，本人使用後讚不絕口，蠻好用的材料，用來放在盆底不錯。
[b]山砂：[/b]偏黃色，一般業者種盆栽多用此種砂，所以跟種盆栽的業者洽詢一下。盆栽一般均以陽明山土跟山砂混合種，所以這兩種介質都買得到，山砂在使用前先洗一洗把土塵洗掉，這樣子一來不會讓根部呼吸不良，混合的介質也不容易變硬。備註：有篩過的。
[b]珍珠石：[/b]也是一種經過高溫處理的介質，質地輕，疏水及透氣性佳，不會因為時間一久就溶化了，容易取得，為愛花人必備之介質，其缺點澆水時會浮起來。
[b]唐山石：[/b]也是高溫處理過的介質，孔隙比蘭石更多，排水性更佳，也是不錯用的介質，唯表面粗糙容易傷到植株，而且易碎。
[b]水晶土：[/b]為塑膠發泡介質，疏水性佳，多用於蘭花的栽培，用在仙人掌跟多肉植物上，對於根系的發展有著良好的效果，而且不會爛掉造成根部的敗壞。
[b]五釐石：[/b]大理石的碎石，五釐石就是大約5mm大小，也有七釐石，一般建材行都買得到，使用前先洗乾淨，否則仙仙會死得莫名奇妙。
